Moshe Oron was until recently the founder and chief scientist of KiloLambda Technologies Ltd. The company is developing and manufacturing nanotechnology based optical filters for protection against lasers and strong light sources since 2001. Among other things, he was responsible for the nano-safety aspects of the industrial work and product safety.
Moshe Oron was an active member of the IEC committee for Nanotechnology in the last 10 years and is a member of an EC advisory-expert-group for nano-safety.
Moshe Oron graduated the Technion in engineering (BSc.1962, MSc. 1970) and the University of Rochester (Ph.D. Optics, 1974, at the LLE-Laboratory for Laser Energetics). The main fields of his activity include lasers, infrared sensors, optical communication and nanotechnology.
Moshe Oron was the founder and chief scientist of KiloLambda Technologies Ltd. (2001-2018), Vice president of ICO (2011-2016). Moshe Oron was the chief scientist of Elbit Systems-Elop (1993-2001), headed the National Committee for infrastructure in Electrooptics (1994-2001), an advisory committee to the ministry of science and the ministry of industry and trade, was a (part time) professor at Technion (1990-2003), teaching laser and optomechanical system design. Moshe Oron is a former president of ILEOS-Israel Laser and Electro Optics Society the reseach committee of the OCS (office of the chief Scientist), ministry of industry and trade and a member of the steering committee of the technological incubators.
Moshe Oron started the laser activity at Soreq research center and led various groups of R&D during a long period (1965-1993), headed the Optronics R&D division in the Israel MOD (1982-85) and later (1985-86) was involved in SDI related projects, mainly in the area of propagation of intense laser beams through the atmosphere.
Moshe Oron published about 80 papers in the optical literature, a CRC book chapter on nanotechnologies, and 35 patents.
