Sophia Buhbut is an R&D Site Lead, strategic product management, and technology leader at Merck Electronics, with 15+ years of experience in R&D advanced materials, semiconductor process technologies, product development and customer engagement.
In her current role, she leads scientists developing next-generation semiconductor and display materials. Her work focuses on translating customer needs and market trends into technology roadmaps, product strategies, and business opportunities.
Sophia previously held global cross-functional project management roles at Merck and worked as an Integration Engineer at Intel. She holds a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from Bar-Ilan University and completed postdoctoral research in Materials Science at Utrecht University in the Netherlands.
